The short version: RemindLoop is local-first by design. Your reminders live on your device unless you explicitly turn on Google Drive backup, and even then, they go straight to your own Drive, never to a RemindLoop server, because we don't run one.
Overview
RemindLoop ("RemindLoop", "we", "us", or "our") is a mobile app for personal reminders, life admin, routines, and check-ins with people you care about. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app touches, how it's used, and the choices you have.
RemindLoop is not a to-do list or a productivity platform, and it has no account system, no login, and no server of its own. Reminders you create are stored entirely on your device. An optional Google Drive backup is available, but it's a settings toggle, never an identity system.
By using RemindLoop, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please discontinue use of the app.
Reminders & Local Storage
Every reminder you create, its title, notes, schedule, urgency tier, category, and completed-log history, is stored entirely in local, on-device storage. RemindLoop is fully functional with zero internet connection and zero cloud dependency.
- Nothing about a reminder is uploaded or transmitted anywhere unless you explicitly enable Google Drive backup (see Section 3).
- Notification scheduling for reminders happens entirely on your device using your operating system's local notification system, no server or push infrastructure is involved.
- Quick-add's natural-language parsing ("remind me in 3 days to renew gym") runs entirely on-device using a local, rules-based parser. Nothing you type is sent to any server to be parsed.
Google Drive Backup
Google Drive backup is entirely optional and off by default. If you choose to connect it from Settings, RemindLoop writes your reminders to a hidden, app-specific data folder in your own Google Drive, a sandboxed space that is invisible in your normal Drive file view and cannot be browsed by other apps.
- Your OAuth token is stored only on your device. It is never sent to a RemindLoop server, because RemindLoop does not operate one.
- Backups happen automatically after a meaningful change (debounced roughly 30 seconds after your last edit), or you can trigger a manual "Sync now" to pull the latest backup on a second device.
- If you reinstall the app or set it up on a new device, RemindLoop can detect and offer to restore from an existing Drive backup.
- You can disconnect Drive backup at any time from Settings, or from your Google Account's connected apps page. Disconnecting does not delete your locally-stored reminders.
- As a known trade-off, conflicts between two devices are resolved last-write-wins per reminder, by timestamp, not silently merged.
Independent of Drive, you can also export your data locally as a JSON file at any time, entirely without touching Google, for anyone who wants a copy of their own data without any cloud service involved.
Photos & Voice Notes
You can optionally attach a photo or a voice note to a reminder. These attachments are stored locally on your device (and included in your Drive backup if you have it enabled), the same as any other reminder data.
- Voice notes are stored as local audio files only. There is no transcription or speech-to-text processing in this version of the app.
- Photos are read only from the source you choose (camera or gallery) and stored locally, they are not analyzed, scanned, or used for any purpose beyond display within the reminder.
What We Never Do
- We never operate a server that stores your reminders. There is no RemindLoop backend for reminder data, everything lives on your device or, optionally, your own Google Drive.
- We never require an account. There is no sign-up or login anywhere in the app, so there is no profile of you for us to build in the first place.
- We never read the contents of your reminders for any purpose beyond displaying them to you. No content analysis, no AI processing, no advertising built on what you write.
- We never sell your data. No data brokers, no third-party data sales, of any kind.

We do not use any data collected by the app for profiling, tracking across other apps, or automated decision-making.
How We Share Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. RemindLoop shares data with a third party only in the following circumstance:
- Google Drive — if you connect it, your reminder data syncs to your own Google account's sandboxed storage. We never receive a copy of this data ourselves, it goes directly from your device to your Drive account.
We may disclose data if required by law, regulation, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RemindLoop, our users, or the public.
Data Retention
- Reminders and attachments: Retained on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. We hold no copy.
- Google Drive backup: Retained in your own Drive's app-data folder until you disconnect Drive and delete the backup, or delete the reminders it backs up.
- Local exports (JSON): Live only where you choose to save them, entirely under your control.
Your Rights & Choices
Because RemindLoop stores everything on your device (and, optionally, your own Drive), most of your rights are already satisfied by design:
Delete Anytime
Delete any reminder directly within the app, or clear all data from Settings.
Disconnect Drive
Turn off Google Drive backup at any time from Settings, without losing your on-device reminders.
Export Your Data
Export a full local JSON copy of your reminders whenever you like.

Security
- Reminders and attachments stored on your device are protected by your device's own operating system storage security.
- Google Drive backup uses Google's OAuth 2.0 for authentication. We never see or store your Google password.
- The Drive app-data folder scope is the narrowest permission available, RemindLoop cannot see your other Drive files, photos, or documents.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we rely on your device's own protections and Google's security practices for Drive, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
RemindLoop is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after a revised policy is posted constitutes acceptance of the changes.
