Privacy Policy

Docu Wallet stores your documents on your device and your own Google Drive, never on our servers. This policy explains exactly what that means.

Effective Date: 25 August 2026
Last Updated: 25 August 2026
Jurisdiction: India

The short version: Your documents stay yours. Docu Wallet has no backend that handles document files, everything lives on your device and, if you choose to connect it, your own Google Drive. We never read, scan, or sell the contents of your documents.

Section 01

Overview

Docu Wallet ("Docu Wallet", "we", "us", or "our") is a mobile app that helps you securely store and instantly retrieve important personal documents, PAN, Aadhaar, driving licence, bank cards, and more. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Docu Wallet is a single-purpose utility: it stores, organizes, and retrieves your documents, and nothing else. There is no social layer, no feed, and no account system beyond the optional Google Drive connection you control.

By using Docu Wallet, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please discontinue use of the app.

Section 02

What Docu Wallet Stores & Where

DataWhere It Lives
Your documents (PDFs, images) and their names/descriptions Locally on your device, and in your own Google Drive if you choose to connect it. Never on Docu Wallet's servers.
Your PIN Stored only on your device, in the operating system's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, EncryptedSharedPreferences/Keystore on Android). Never transmitted anywhere.
Biometric unlock (Face/Fingerprint), if enabled Handled entirely by your device's operating system. Docu Wallet never accesses or stores biometric data directly.
Purchase information (for the one-time unlock) Processed through the App Store / Play Store. We receive only a transaction confirmation, never your payment card details.
Anonymous usage data (optional) Aggregate, non-personal analytics (e.g. app opens, documents added) that never include document names or contents.
Section 03

What We Never Do

  • We never upload your documents to our servers. We have no backend that handles document files. Your Aadhaar, PAN, and other documents never leave your device or your own Google Drive.
  • We never read the contents of your documents. No OCR, no AI scanning, no content analysis. Docu Wallet stores what you give it and shows it back to you, nothing more.
  • We never sell your data. No third-party advertising, no data brokers, no selling or sharing of user data for commercial purposes.
  • We never access more Google Drive data than necessary. We request only the narrowest available permission (the app-specific data folder scope). We cannot see your other files, photos, or any other content in your Drive.
Section 04

Google Drive & Permissions

Connecting Google Drive is entirely optional. If you connect it, Docu Wallet writes your documents to a hidden, app-specific data folder, a sandboxed space that no other app can see, and that does not appear in your normal Google Drive file list.

You can revoke Drive access at any time from Settings → Disconnect Drive, or from your Google Account's connected apps page. Revoking access does not delete your documents already stored on your device.

Docu Wallet uses Google's OAuth 2.0 for authentication. We do not store your Google password. Authentication tokens are kept only in your device's secure storage.

On a new device, connecting Google Drive restores your full document list and files, this is the only way document data moves between devices, since there is no Docu Wallet account or server-side copy.

Section 05

How We Use Data

PurposeData Used
Storing and retrieving your documentsDocument files, name, description (on-device and your own Drive)
Gating app accessPIN / biometric unlock, stored only on-device
Processing the one-time unlock purchaseStore transaction confirmation
Understanding aggregate app usage (optional)Anonymous, non-identifying usage events

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making.

Section 06

How We Share Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in the limited circumstances below:

  • Google Drive — if you connect it, to sync your documents to your own account. We never receive a copy of these files ourselves.
  • App Store / Play Store — to process the one-time unlock purchase.
  • OS-level share sheet — when you tap "share" on a document, your device's native share sheet hands the file to whatever app you choose (WhatsApp, email, etc.). Docu Wallet does not manage or see this transfer itself.

We may disclose data if required by law, regulation, or court order, or if necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Docu Wallet, our users, or the public.

Section 07

Data Retention

  • Documents and metadata: Retained on your device, and in your own Google Drive if connected, until you delete them or uninstall the app. We hold no copy.
  • PIN: Retained on-device only, until changed or the app is uninstalled.
  • Purchase records: Retained as required by financial/tax regulations, held by the App Store / Play Store, not by us.
  • Anonymous usage analytics: Aggregated and not retained as personally identifiable information.
Section 08

Your Rights & Choices

Because your documents live on your device and your own Google Drive, you already hold direct control over almost all of your data. You may also exercise the following:

🗑

Delete Anytime

Delete any document, or all of them, directly within the app, on your device and your Drive.

🔌

Disconnect Drive

Revoke Google Drive access at any time from Settings, without losing your on-device documents.

📦

Portability

Your documents are standard PDF/image files, always exportable via the native share sheet.

Section 09

Security

  • PIN protection: Your PIN is stored in the device's secure storage, hashed where applicable, and is never transmitted or stored in plain text.
  • Biometric unlock: Uses the operating system's biometric API (Face ID / Fingerprint). Docu Wallet never accesses biometric data directly.
  • Offline by default: The app works fully without an internet connection. No document data is sent anywhere while you're offline.
  • Sandboxed Drive storage: Documents synced to Google Drive use the narrowest available app-data scope, invisible to other apps.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
