Privacy Policy

Jigsaw Frames has no account and never uploads your photos. This policy explains what stays on your phone, the few things that don't, and the choices you have.

Effective Date: 30 October 2026
Last Updated: 30 October 2026
Jurisdiction: India

The short version: Puzzles you make from your camera or gallery are stored only on your phone, and your own photos are never uploaded. There is no account. The app downloads preset photos from our server, and because it is ad-supported, ad networks may collect standard device information such as an advertising ID, as described in Section 6.

Section 01

Overview

Jigsaw Frames ("Jigsaw Frames", "we", "us", or "our") is a photo jigsaw puzzle app. You can make a puzzle from a photo you take or pick, or play one of the preset photos from the in-app library. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and the choices you have.

Jigsaw Frames has no sign-in, no sign-up and no user profile. We do not ask for your name, email (except in the optional license-code flow in Section 7), contacts or location.

By using Jigsaw Frames, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please discontinue use of the app.

Section 02

What Stays on Your Phone

The following is stored only in the app's private storage on your device:

  • Puzzle photos: A working copy of each photo you use (resized to at most 2048 px, with location and camera details (EXIF) removed) and its thumbnail. These are deleted when you delete the puzzle.
  • Puzzle progress: Piece positions, hints used and, if you turn the timer on, elapsed time.
  • Library cache: The photo index and any library photos you have downloaded.
  • Settings: Your preferences, such as background, haptics, sound, timer and the mobile-data download switch.
  • Purchase status: A cached copy of whether ads have been removed.

Jigsaw Frames does not use a cloud service of its own to copy your puzzles. Android backup is turned off for the app. Depending on your phone's own settings, your device's operating-system backup may still include app data, and puzzles are not transferred to a new phone by the app itself.

Section 03

What Leaves Your Phone

DestinationWhat is sentWhen
Our photo library serviceA request for the list of library photos and the photos themselves. No user ID is sent. When you open the app, refresh the library, or tap a library photo
Google AdMob (ad network)Standard ad-request data, which may include device and advertising identifiers depending on your consent and regionOnly when an ad is shown, and never if you have removed ads
RevenueCat (purchases)An anonymous purchase identifier and the store receiptWhen you buy or restore "Remove ads"
Our licensing serviceThe email you enter and the app nameOnly if you ask for a license code

Your own photos and your puzzle progress are never sent to us or to anyone else.

Section 04

Your Photos & Permissions

Jigsaw Frames asks for as little access as possible and only when you use a feature that needs it.

  • Choosing from your gallery: Uses your phone's system photo picker, which does not require the app to hold photo-library permission. The app receives only the photo you choose.
  • Taking a photo: On Android, the app opens your phone's camera app and does not request the camera permission. On iPhone, the system asks once for camera access.
  • Saving a finished puzzle: Saves the image to your gallery when you tap Save. On iPhone, the system asks once for add-only photo access. The app cannot read the rest of your photo library.
  • Not requested: Microphone, contacts, location and notifications.

Photos are processed on your device. They are not analyzed, scanned or used for any purpose other than building your puzzle.

Section 05

The Photo Library

The preset library is a collection of photographs that the app downloads from our server so there is always something new to play. Each photo is credited, with its licence, under About, then Photo credits.

  • Requests for the library do not include any account, because there are none.
  • Like any internet request, the connection naturally exposes your IP address to the server and its hosting provider while the request is made.
  • You can turn off downloads over mobile data, and clear downloaded photos at any time from Settings.
Section 06

Ads & Consent

Jigsaw Frames is free and supported by light ads. Ads never appear while a puzzle is open, on app launch, or when you use a hint or the preview.

  • Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect standard ad-request information such as device and advertising identifiers, in line with Google's own policies.
  • We request non-personalized ads by default.
  • Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), Google's consent form is shown before any ad loads. You can reopen it any time from Settings, then Ad choices.
  • If you buy "Remove ads", the ad network is no longer started and no ad requests are made.
Section 07

Purchases & License Codes

"Remove ads" is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play or the App Store. We use RevenueCat to verify the purchase using an anonymous identifier and the store receipt. We never see your payment details.

After you buy, you may optionally ask us to email you a license code. If you do, we store your email address with the app name, only so we can send the code and restore your purchase if you enter it later. Skipping this step has no effect on your purchase, which also restores through your store account.

Section 08

What We Never Do

  • We never upload your photos. Puzzles made from your camera or gallery stay on your phone.
  • We never require an account, so there is no profile of you to build.
  • We never sell your data. No data brokers, no third-party data sales, of any kind.
  • We do not use third-party analytics SDKs. We learn how the app is doing from store consoles, such as install counts and crash rates.
  • We never track you across other apps ourselves, and we never use your photos for advertising.
Section 09

How We Share Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. Data reaches a third party only in the situations listed in Section 3: Google AdMob (ads), RevenueCat (purchase verification), and the infrastructure that hosts our library and licensing services.

Sharing a finished puzzle image is something you do yourself through your phone's share sheet. We add no watermark, link or tracking to it.

We may disclose data if required by law, regulation, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Jigsaw Frames, our users, or the public.

Section 10

Data Retention

  • Puzzles and photos: Kept on your phone until you delete the puzzle or uninstall the app. We hold no copy.
  • Downloaded library photos: Kept in a size-limited cache; the oldest unused photos are removed first, and you can clear them any time.
  • License-code email: Kept for as long as needed to restore your purchase. You can ask us to delete it using the contact details below.
  • Ad and purchase data: Held by Google and RevenueCat under their own policies.
